Dini Dinosaur
Scott Bahlmann
This is a flannel adaptation of the book by Karen Beaumont
(It was actually quite simple to make the flannel set, I just copied the cover of the book, and then stapled the image to my flannel and cut round the bits I wanted!)
On a warm summer day in a prehistoric land
A dinosaur played in the mud and the sand.
‘Oh my goodness, Dini! You’re a mess!’ his mama said.
‘You’re going to need to take a bath before you go to bed!”
Dirty Dini Dinosaur splashed in the tub.
He tried to wash his feet with a scrub-d-dub-dub!
Silly Dini Dinosaur! Don’t you know?
You have to take your shoes off…”Back you go!”
So…
(Dirty Dini with all the removable bits.)
Dirty Dini Dinosaur splashed in the tub.
He tried to wash his (legs/tummy/head)with a scrub-d-dub-dub!
Silly Dini Dinosaur! Don’t you know?
You have to take your (pants/shirt/hat) off…”Back you go!”
(The bathtub is cut from cardboard, with marker accents. After the hat is removed, I 'washed' all of Dini, and flipping him over to reveal the all clean side.)
“I love you , my sweet Dini, and I always will” mom said.
The she hugged and kissed him and tucked him into bed.
(pretty adorable, and the kids loved identifying what he was supposed to take off next.)
This weeks Flannel Friday is hosted on Lisa's blog, Story Time with the Library Lady
