Book Babies 3.2
Scott Bahlmann
Our handouts are printed on both sides of a normal sheet of paper, folded in half to form a brochure of sorts. This go-round I’ve used a high-contrast image (adapted from photographs) on our covers. I also have an image by each rhyme, which creates a nice talking point for children too young to read. …and because I’m a very visual person.
We open each program with Baby Hop, from the CD Diaper Gym.
Then we read the first of two books, which alternate depending on what is available. See my Book Babies/Lapsit Titles page for suggestions.
I Went to the Zoo (We use stuffed animals with this, usually 5)
I went to the zoo one day,
I met a tiger on my way,
This is what he had to say,
Roar, Roar, Roar, Roar!
I went to the zoo one day,
I met a Gorilla on my way,
This is what he had to say,
Ooo-oooo, Ooo-oooo,
Ooo-oooo, Ooo-oooo!
(continue with other animals)

Clap Your Hands from Wiggleworms Love You
Clap your hands, clap your hands,
Everybody clap your hands.
Clap your hands, clap your hands,
clap your hands, clap your hands,
Everybody clap your hands.
Stomp your feet…
Wave ‘hello’…
Brush your teeth…
Touch your nose…
Clap your hands…
We read our second book here.
Can We Find? (We do this as a signing song. First we introduce the colors as we put them on the board, then use the sign for the animals as we sing. Four - six per program.)
tune: Muffin Man
Can we find an orange cat,
An orange cat, an orange cat?
Can we find an orange cat?
We want to say hello!
